1. The only reason people hate Fortnite now is because it’s popular and kids play it. before Fortnite was popular, many of the people shitting on it now were shitting on Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds and talking about Fortnite like it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Before that they were shitting on Overwatch.
2. Battlefield 5 didn’t fail because of ‘sjws’, it failed because of a lack of content, numerous bugs, and a failed live service model. The ‘historical accuracy’ and ‘being disrespectful to actual WWII vets’ is bullshit too because number one, 99.99 percent of the game’s player base is too young to have participated in WWII and number 2, playable women and prosthetics in the game’s multiplayer mode is no more disrespectful to vets than the idea of a WWII online multiplayer game in and of itself. If that was the case, then you might as well condemn games like Wolfeinstein, Bloodrayne, The Outfit, Captain America, Overlord, or any other work of fiction that depicts WWII in a fantasy, sci-fi, horror, or comedy manner. As far as historical accuracy, that argument is bullshit too, because this is a game that features magic syringes that literally bring the dead back to life, soldiers that can hop into virtually any vehicle and commandeer it instantly with no start up procedures or training, and a fucking battle royal mode with a magical wall of fire that closes in on you. Just admit that it’s about women and them doing the cool shit guys do. Which brings me to….
3. Diversity and accessibility are good for games. More diverse characters + easier accessibility = bigger player base = more profit for everyone. Also when people complain about ‘politics, wokeness, and forced diversity’ what they mean is that they don’t want to see any significant representation of marginalized demographics in video games, or and references to issues that affect them. If that were the case they’re be just as vehemently against Final Fantasy VII (environmentalism, corporate greed), Resident Evil (political and corporate corruption) and Tom Clancy (oh come on) to name a few.
4. If you defend a developer’s decision not to have a playable character who isn’t a non-white cis-gendered male, or to not include difficulty settings (to name a few) by saying ‘respect the developer’s decision’ or ‘this is what the developer intended’ You shouldn’t be allowed to use mods or custom content. If the developers of Skyrim intended for people to put Macho man Randy Savage into the game, or if the makers of Grand Theft Auto 4 intended for Iron man suits to be in the game, the they would have put them in themselves.
6. Even though it lacks exclusives, the Xbox One is still a good system. Game Pass and Backwards Compatibility make it worth it, Gears 5 is awesome, and Crackdown 3 isn’t as bad as everyone says it is.
7. Paladins is better than Fortnite.
